Tell us a bit about yourself and about your current profession. What were you doing before you started out on your own?
Currently I teach Bollywood dance aerobics to adults and bollywood dance to kids and teens. I have been teaching more than a year now. I enjoy what I am doing now because I love to dance, love to teach and dance is my passion. I was a full time computer Programmer before I started this career.
When did you start your company? Where? And what motivated you to start it? What was your initial investment?I joined Bollybeatz LLC last year and since then I have been teaching in several cities in Dallas/Fortworth area in Texas. I wanted to balance the motherhood with my career, that way as I had always loved dance, I thought to take this as my new career to enjoy what am doing and at the same time spend good time with my family.
What have been your achievements, accolades and upturns in your career?
I have been featured twice in Dallas Morning news and also in the local television WB33 for my excellence in teaching bollywood dance aerobics in the Dallas/Forthworth area.
Any downturns, Unusual circumstances, hardships, you have had to face in your profession/business?
Challenges which is there is any profession and I had and still have challenges to run among other budding schools which offer similar dance courses.
How do you balance your personal and professional life? How many kids do you have? What are your usual activities with them?
Have to teach is fun and it does take all my time and the time I spend for my children and family. I teach evenings and week ends. So I have lots of time for myself and for my family.
How do you spend your “Alone” time. Any hobbies, activities, groups you are associated with.
I do shopping, meet with friends, go for once a week play dates for my child, go for other classes such as swimming and etc.,
What’s the secret to your being a SuperMomPreneur? And what’s the best compliment you have received about your career or being a self-professional.
That am able to do what I love and enjoy and still have time for myself and my family. Last but not the least, keep my body fit by dancing, which is the best workout ever and which is also a big envy to others.
